Welcome to the team, Emily and Olivia! And let us formally (re)introduce Catherine & Savannah! We're so excited to have each of them bring their expertise and passion to our studio. Be sure to say hello and welcome them to the Progressive Pilates Williamsburg family!
Emily is a freelance dancer and creative based in New York City and is currently undergoing her Pilates teacher certification with Balanced Body. Originally from Florida, Emily trained in ballet and graduated from the Naples Dance Conservatory and the Miami City Ballet School. She then went on to work professionally, performing with ballet companies across the United States, including Grand Rapids Ballet and United Ballet Theatre, while also taking on freelance work in Texas, Chicago, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York City. Additionally, she has taught ballet at various dance schools around the country.
Emily discovered her true passion for Pilates and cross-training through her director at United Ballet Theatre, Joseph Gatti. It was here that she recognized the importance of a strong mind-body connection.
Emily is passionate about sharing this experience with others through the practice of Pilates. She firmly believes that the mind-body connection significantly contributes to an overall better quality of life and is excited to share this knowledge and experience of the medicine of movement with her students.
Olivia is a highly accomplished movement specialist with roots in professional dance, hailing from Chicago. Her extensive dance career naturally evolved into a passion for Pilates, a practice she has mastered and taught for over 14 years.
Certified across all Pilates apparatus—Olivia blends her artistic background with precise movement mechanics to craft transformative Pilates sessions.
Her teaching style is a harmonious mix of challenge and care, offering a therapeutic and dynamic experience that empowers students to move with strength and serenity. Savannah holds certifications in Classical Mat Pilates (Balanced Body with Carrie Pages), Pilates apparatus (SPRING Movement, East River Pilates), 200-hour Yoga and Ayurveda, and a teaching artist certificate at Mark Morris Dance Center. She continues to expand her expertise through workshops, retreats, and intensives, including studying Myoreflex Methods with Kerstin Kussmaul at the Artis Umbria retreat in Italy (2024), the 'Spirals: A Warm-up for the Entire Body' workshop with Irene Dowd at Movement Research (2023), American Dance Festival (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019), and Bates Dance Festival (2015).
